Dear Samina,

I still remember the day I walked into Head Start almost 14 years ago. I was mesmerised by the love and respect that exuberated from the sacred space. Aunty Samina standing at the door greeting each child, making them feel so welcome, was a sight to cherish.

When my student teachers go for observations to Head Start they are surprised by how engrossed the children are in the material and their work. They don’t even turn and look at the visitors. It is a pleasure to witness the children working like busy bodies in an environment rich in Montessori principles.

Samina, you embody the Montessori philosophy and it is seen in every element of Head Start. 35 years of such authenticity in your work with children is definitely commendable. Congratulations on achieving this milestone. I would like to thank you for giving the student teachers of Formative Age a glimpse into the beautiful Montessori world at Head Start Pre-Primary and Primary and for being such a wonderful human. You are my role model! Wish you and the team greater success with each passing year.
