I still attribute a large amount of my personal growth to the eight years I spent at the school

Although, I left Head Start almost a decade ago, I still attribute a large amount of my personal growth to the eight years I spent at the school. I like to think that my interactions with the Montessori materials have had an impact on my academic pursuits. However, the defining memories that I took away from my time at Head Start were not the knowledge or skills that I gained, but the people I had the privilege of interacting with. People like Aunty Samina, Uncle Riad, and Uncle Loynel were what made my Head Start experience memorable. I still fondly remember Aunty Samina standing at the door every morning to greet every student and the various events such as the sport's days and music festivals that I attended. Today, I am in my third year at UC Berkeley, studying Applied Math and Data Science, hoping to work in the software field in the future. Congratulations to Aunty and everyone else on Head Start's 35th anniversary.
